Frictionless payment is a checkout with no deliberate payment step for the customer. The system recognizes who is present and completes the transaction in the background, without a tap, scan, or PIN.
The longer version
Friction in payment is every action a customer has to perform to pay: opening an app, finding a card, scanning a code, entering a PIN. Frictionless payment removes those steps by letting the environment recognize the customer and handle the transaction for them.
Recognition by presence is what makes this possible without a reader in hand. A provider broadcasts a short range signal, the customer's phone confirms it is the nearest match, and the payment routes through a central server. The customer approves once, and later transactions can complete with no visible step at all.
Removing friction is not the same as removing control. In the Parousya method nothing is sent until the customer chooses to act, so a quiet checkout still rests on a deliberate choice rather than a silent charge.
